Bimota is a motorcycle brand founded in Italy in 1973. The name gained an immense popularity due to genius Massimo Tamburini, the legendary Designer and former co-owner of the company, who is, among for his other creations, best known for those of the Ducati 916 or the MV Agusta F4.

“Sarti Book : The SB1 was created at the express request of Suzuki Italia, around the time of the SAIAD,of Turin. The SB1, known at Suzuki as the “TR 500 SB “ was marketed to private consumers through the sales network of Suzuki itself. In the specialty publications, an advertisement was published with a headline reading. “ The winner of 1976. Suzuki : technology in movement .”

The junior national titles were won by : Riccardo Romeri(1976) Leandro Becheroni(1977) Mandro(1978), Gori (1979), and Paci(1980). The SB1 was also tested by Phil Read at Misano who called it “exceptional”.

This SB1 has been bought from the original owner and was completely rebuilt by the old mechanic who used to look after it. After that the it was last driven by the junior champion from 1978, Gino Mandro, at the “Rupert Hollaus memory race 2012″ in Zeltweg.

The engine has been completely rebuilt afterwards. Also, Gino Mandro has signed the tank. Because of safety reasons the original rims have been switched with new PVM rims (Campagnolo Look). The old ones are of course being sold with the bike.
